Mark D. Mordell
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Mordell joined the board in January of 2006 and was appointed Chairman in February of 2007. He was named Chief Executive Officer in March of 2012 and brings over 30 years of financial services, real estate and diverse business experience to the bank. He is founder and board member of CBC Properties, LLC, a full service real estate investment and management organization based in Palo Alto. Mr. Mordell is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Live Holding, AG, a venture capital firm based in Berlin, Germany and serves on the board of MMM Management, Inc., the strategic advisor to a family office based in San Francisco. Additionally, Mr. Mordell has served and serves on various organizations and committees for community including Stanford University, Sacred Heart Preparatory School, The Town of Portola Valley and Palo Alto University Rotary Club. Mr. Mordell received a BA in Economics from Stanford University where he played football for four years.
Kenneth D. Brenner
Head of Strategic Relationships
Mr. Brenner brings 30 years of exceptional relationship banking experience serving businesses and individuals in the Palo Alto Community and the Silicon Valley. Prior to joining the Bank, Ken was instrumental in the fast growth of three successful regional business banks, Silicon Valley Bank, Cupertino National Bank and Bridge Bank; he held high level management and business development positions with all three. Ken is currently a member and Past President of the Palo Alto University Rotary, a member of the San Francisco Business Forum, and a board member of SVASE (Silicon Valley Association of Start-up Entrepreneurs). He is a past board member of the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford and the Association of Corporate Growth, and is a founding director of the Churchill Club.
Kristofer W. Biorn
Mr. Biorn is an attorney and shareholder in the Palo Alto law firm of Crist, Biorn, Shepherd & Roskoph, APC, the oldest law firm in Palo Alto, with history dating back to 1927. He specializes in litigation related to estates and trusts, and has extensive experience in estate planning and commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Biorn was born and raised in Palo Alto, and graduated from Duke University and University of California-Hastings, College of the Law. He is a four-term member of the Palo Alto Family YMCA Board of Directors, most recently serving as Chairman. He has also served on the Board of the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation.
Lisa B. Hendrickson
Ms. Hendrickson is a nonprofit management and philanthropy consultant. Previously she was President & CEO of Avenidas, a Palo Alto based not-for-profit senior services agency. She also had twenty years of commercial banking experience culminating as Senior Vice President and Manager, Regional Commercial Banking, Wells Fargo Bank, Palo Alto. She has served on the boards of several not-for-profit agencies, including the Friends of the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo, Samaritan House, Women's Recovery Association and the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation.
Bryan C. Polster
Mr. Polster is the Managing Partner of Frank, Rimerman & Co. LLP and its subsidiaries Frank, Rimerman Consulting LLC, Frank, Rimerman Advisors LLC and MKF Research LLC. He has been a practicing Certified Public Accountant since 1978, having received both his MBA and BS degrees in the School of Business Honors Program at Indiana University. Mr. Polster has served and continues to serve on several committees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and serves on the Board of Directors and several Task Forces. Mr. Polster also serves on the Boards of CAMICO and Baker Tilly USA, and is a Trustee of the Sobrato Family Foundation. He is a business advisor to a number of private operating and investment companies.
Roxy H. Rapp
Mr. Rapp is a native Palo Altan. He has extensive retail experience and has built an innovative, successful development company. He is also active and involved in the community, sitting on the Board of Trustees of Menlo College and serving on many civic boards including the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo and the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Rapp is one of the founding board members of the Palo Alto Trees for El Camino Real.
Michael F. Rosinus
Mr. Rosinus serves as a Senior Advisor to Tricadia Capital Management, LLC, focusing on investments in community banking and other financial services. He is also founder of TRF Partners, LLC, a co-general partner of PTMR Capital Partners LP – a fund affiliated with Performance Trust Investment Advisors making equity investments in community banks. He has been investing in community banks since 1998. Prior to TRF Partners, LLC and PTMR Capital Partners LP, he made investments through Lightyear Capital and Tiedemann Rosinus, LP. Mr. Rosinus is also a director of Cordia Bancorp and Bank of Virginia. Before joining Tiedemann, Mr. Rosinus was employed in the banking industry for 18 years, serving as the Chief Lending Officer for M&T Bank in New York City and subsequently, the Chief Executive Officer of the Commercial Banking Division for Citibank in Chicago. Mr. Rosinus also served as a director of Sun American Bancorp from October of 2005 to May of 2009. He received his BA from Hamilton College and MBA from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
Robert H. Scott
Mr. Scott, a 30-year industry veteran, is currently the CEO of Bradford Networks. Previously, he served as CEO of Clique Intelligence, a software platform for data sharing and collaboration technologies, and as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at HP ProCurve Networking, the world’s fastest growing networking company. Mr. Scott joined the Board of Directors of Square 1 Bank and was a member of the Board that helped Square 1 go public in 2015. He joined HP through its 2008 acquisition of Colubris Networks, where he had served as president and CEO, helping the company ascend to a prominent position in the wireless LAN industry. During his career, Mr. Scott has steered the helm of several technology companies as president and CEO, including Xelor Software, an IP telephony company, and IPeria, a provider of network-based voice messaging applications. In addition, he was President of ONET Networks and MultiLink, and CEO and founder of Octave Communications. Mr. Scott was named by Ernst & Young as its Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002.
Marc J. Verissimo
Mr. Verissimo brings with him almost 40 years of banking experience, primarily with emerging growth companies within the private equity sector. After stints with Bank of America, First Interstate Bank, and Comerica Bank, Mr. Verissimo joined Silicon Valley Bank in 1993. Over the next 24 years he served on the executive committee and worked in multiple roles including Head of California Banking, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and twice held the office as interim Chief Financial Officer. In these positions, he led the California banking team that comprised two thirds of the bank's revenues, oversaw the bank's international expansion into the United Kingdom, China, Israel and India, oversaw IT, HR, Legal, Operations, Finance, Audit, BSA/AML at various times, and finally led credit, enterprise Risk Management, cyber security, compliance, credit review, and regulatory relations among other responsibilities. Mr. Verissimo has an undergrad degree from UC Davis and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Lighter Capital, a fintech company revolutionizing the business of startup financing. He also serves as advisor for debt funds and startups.
