Mark D. Mordell
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Mordell joined the board in January of 2006 and was appointed Chairman in February of 2007. He was named Chief Executive Officer in March of 2012 and brings over 30 years of financial services, real estate and diverse business experience to the bank. He is founder and board member of CBC Properties, LLC, a full service real estate investment and management organization based in Palo Alto. Mr. Mordell also serves on the board of MMM Management, Inc., the strategic advisor to a family office based in San Francisco. Additionally, Mr. Mordell has served and serves on various organizations and committees for the community including Stanford University, Sacred Heart Preparatory School, The Town of Portola Valley and Palo Alto University Rotary Club. Mr. Mordell received a BA in Economics from Stanford University where he played football for four years.
Ronald E. Oliveira
President & Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Oliveira has over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry including both big bank and small bank experience. He most recently served as President and Chief Operations Officer, and previously as Chief Credit Officer, for Heritage Oaks Bank in Paso Robles, California where he was instrumental in improving credit quality and returning the bank to profitability. He has also held executive positions in credit administration, commercial lending and retail banking for Union Bank and Bank of California with responsibilities for Northern California, Oregon, Washington and Guam/Saipan throughout his career. Mr. Oliveira, a native Californian, earned his BS in Agribusiness from Fresno State University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
Kenneth D. Brenner
Head of Strategic Relationships
Mr. Brenner has over 30 years of relationship banking experience serving businesses and individuals in the Palo Alto community and the Silicon Valley. Prior to joining Avidbank in 2006, Ken contributed to the growth of three successful regional business banks, Silicon Valley Bank, Cupertino National Bank and Bridge Bank. From 2001 to 2006, Ken was Executive Vice President of Bridge Bank, and President and Manager of their Palo Alto region. He was President and Managing Director of the Venture Banking Group of Cupertino National Bank from 1992 through 2001, and for the seven years prior to that was Senior Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank. Ken is currently a member of the Palo Alto University Rotary. He was a founding director of the Churchill Club, and has joined the Advisory Council of the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto.
Senior Vice President & Deputy Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Butner has 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry serving small and medium sized businesses. He has held senior management positions at several Bay Area banks including, most recently, eight years at Square 1 Bank as a Risk Manager and five years at Silicon Valley Bank as a Senior Credit Officer. Prior to that, Mr. Butner was the Chief Operating Officer of a venture-backed technology startup called eFinance where he led the engineering, product development, customer service, and sales efforts. He brings deep technology and asset-based lending experience to the team. Mr. Butner received his BA in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Executive Vice President & Chief Banking Officer
Ms. Hamilton started her banking career with Union Bank more than 25 years ago. Since then, she has held management positions at several key business banks in the South Bay. As a Senior Vice President, she ran the Corporate Banking Group in San Jose for Comerica Bank and was instrumental in obtaining regulatory approval for AeroBank in the early 2000s. Most recently, Ms. Hamilton managed the Corporate Banking team for Bridge Bank in San Jose. She is currently a Board Member of the Construction Financial Management Association Silicon Valley Chapter. Ms. Hamilton received her BA in International Relations from UC Davis prior to joining Union Bank.
Lawrence F. LaCroix
Executive Vice President, Specialty Finance
Mr. LaCroix has over 30 years experience in the banking and financial services industry. He most recently served as a Senior Vice President and Group Manager of Bridge Bank's Capital Finance Division in San Jose, CA. In addition to consultancy and startup, he has held executive positions at SunTrust Bank, Atlanta for 19 years including head of its Receivable Capital Management Division. Originally from Connecticut, Mr. LaCroix earned his BS degree in Economics from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Leen has over 25 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. He has previously served as CFO and in other senior management level positions with a major Bay Area financial institution with operations throughout the western United States. He brings operational, information technology and administrative expertise in addition to his financial background. He received his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
Executive Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending
Mr. Maleti has over 25 years experience in commercial real estate lending in the Bay Area. He began his career with Pacific Western Bank and Comerica, and has held senior management positions with Mid-Peninsula Bank and City National Bank. His involvement with the community includes board and committee positions with several local organizations including, Merritt Community Capital Corp, Silicon Valley Leadership Group, and Urban Land Institute’s Silicon Valley Committee. He currently serves on the board of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce and the Bay Area Regional Committee for San Diego State University. Mr. Maleti earned his BS degree in Real Estate from San Diego State University.
Fergal J. O'Boyle
Executive Vice President, Construction Lending
Mr. O'Boyle joined Avidbank in 2008 as Senior Vice President, Construction Lending and has over 20 years experience in the banking and construction lending business. He came to Avidbank from Bridge Bank where his expertise was in construction and real estate lending. Prior to that, Mr. O'Boyle worked at the Great Bay Bank after he had spent a number of years as an accounting consultant to startup companies. Mr. O'Boyle studied accounting and received his BA from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts.
